1st Assistant Engineer/ Chief Limited Oceans

Objective

To obtain employment with a stable company that will help me obtain my goal of reaching chief engineer and afford me the opportunity to advance my education in the marine/oil/gas industry.

Experience

Alliance Marine Services for Technip: Aug 2011 to present

First Assistant Engineer working aboard the Global 1200 DP2 pipe lay vessel as part of the Engine Room Crew responsible for the day to day workings of the propulsion plant, mechanical and preventive maintenance of Wartzila drop down and main azimuth thrusters and auxiliary machinery. Also responsible for the monitoring and repair of 6 MAN/B&W main diesel generator sets and their associated systems including start and control air, fuel and lube oil systems and purifiers. Experience with Converteam control and monitoring systems and receiving vessel specific training on this system in early June.

Odyssea Marine: Feb 2011 to March 2011

Hired on as 2nd Assistant Engineer to bring a DP1 OSV (M/V Hondo River) boat from Ghana, Africa to the United States. This was a delivery job only as presented by the company. I, along with the Chief engineer, was responsible to get a newly purchased boat ready electrically and mechanically to be able to cross the Atlantic Ocean to be delivered to it's new owners in New Orleans, La.

Grand River Navigation: Dec/2004 to Aug 2011

Started as deckhand then transferred to the engineering dept. Obtained QMED rating in 6/2005. Responsibilities were to assist the engineer on watch along with ballasting the ship during load/unload operations. I was tasked with most of the electrical repairs due to having been an Electricians Mate in the USCG and was more familiar with the shipboard electrical systems than the 3rd engineer formerly assigned to them. Obtained 3rd A/E License in 6/2007 responsible for all engine room equipment for 2 four hour watches per day while underway along with the QMED assigned to the same watch. Obtained 2nd A/E License in 2/2009 responsible for all machinery including boilers, purifiers, main engines and generators as well as associated systems (raw water, jacket water, fuel, lube oil) during the watch. At this time it was a one man watch and we were responsible for the ballasting of the ship during loads/unloads as well.

I have been participating in the random drug screening process with Grand River Navigation since beginning employment in 2004.

I am an Honorably discharged veteran of the USCG where I held the rank of EM2/ E-5 (Electricians Mate 2nd class) at time of separation. I welcome any type of training that will ultimately let me work in the Oil/Gas Industry

My goal here is to find a good job with good pay and benefits that I can work at for years to come.
