Experience
Have experience on product and crude oil tankers, tugs, research boats, container ship, OSV's, deliveries. Also, ten years with Military Sealift Command on oilers, tugs, submarine tenders and ammo ships. Former EMT firefighter. Second language is Spanish. Private pilot and PADI advanced open water diver. Sailed as Master aboard M/V Geysir, a container ship on MSC contract servicing Keflavik Naval Air Station from Norfolk, VA. Successfully contended with faulty main and emergency generators, shipboard fire, unstable gyro, unruly crew, steering gear failure and heavy weather.

Basic computer skills and am familiar with word processing and digital logs, i.e. shipslog. Also voyage planning and celestial navigation apps. Some mechanical experience with diesel engines, forklift, hydraulic crane, welding, vessel security, safety awareness and accident prevention.
