100 Ton Captain

Objective


I am seeking a full time position aboard a commercial vessel as a mate/captain. With my licenses and vast experience aboard both sailing and power vessels I believe I can be an asset to any maritime operation.


Experience


-S/Y Yanneke Too, 116’ Camper & Nicholsons Sailing Yacht July 2003-Oct 2003

Delivery Crew/ Relief Captain: Crewed on delivery of vessel from Los Angeles to Thailand. Responsibilities included all vessel maintenance and watch keeping, navigation, passage planning.



-S/V Schooner Western Union, 130' Gaff Rigged Schooner, Key West, FL. Nov 1999-July 2000, Nov 2001-Aug 2002

First Mate/ Second Captain: Full time first mate for a crew of 10 aboard this wooden, 1930's era schooner. Responsibilities included:

-Oversaw on-deck crew during sails

-Oversaw crew while performing all maintenance on vessel

-Piloting and docking of vessel

-Inventory and ordering of all foodstuffs, beverages and maintenance materials

-Coordinating of all duty rosters and crew schedules

-Responsible for all safety inspections aboard vessel

Senior Mate: Crewmember of two yachts also on the San Francisco Bay. Vessels as well were chartered by small corporations and private individuals for meetings, dinners and cocktail parties. Responsibilities included all aspects of vessel maintenance, safety and operations.



-M/V Heritage, 65' steel open tour boat, Key West, FL. Oct 2001-Feb 2002

Yard Captain, Mate: Performed and oversaw the complete tear down and refit of this vessel for a private company located in Key West, FL. Facets included haul out, gutting, sandblasting, re-painting, rewiring, engine overhaul and finish work.
