Responsibilities:In overall charge of the production department, including Hull, Outfitting, Machinery, Electrical, Piping, Blasting/Painting/Cleaning, Rigging, Carpentry and Maintenance.
My main responsibility was to delegate tasks to the various Department Managers and or Section Heads related to the various projects in hand and then motivate these staff members to produce a safe and efficient flow of work in line with the various schedules and production plans in force at that time.
Prepare new production planning, as and when required, and ensure these conformed to the various project budget forecast’s. Chair the weekly production meeting and redirect the respective production departments as and when required to ensure production targets were met safely and on time. Follow-up and monitor production budgets on all individual ongoing projects, advise respective production managers as and when required of short falls. Implement overall safety and welfare plans among all production staff throughout the yard. Take part in the yard development activities based on implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 18001 and ISO 14001.

Nature of Project:MSC GUSTO designed, New Construction of two in numbers, 4-Legs Jack-up Rig, 90 man living quarters, Self Propelled DP-II, 300T and 100T Deck Cranes etc.
Total project value: US$280M.
Responsibilities:To monitor the overall construction of two in numbers self Propelled DP-II, Jack-up rigs utilizing an electrical Rack and Pinion jacking system.
Day to day inspection of various hull and other block fabrications ongoing in the fabrication yard and at the final assembly area along with all new piping system fabrication, installation and testing as final completion progressed.
Day to day inspection and monitoring of the fabrication, assembling and erection of the legs. 8 sections per leg, 4 legs per rig, 85M length in each. Spud-cans, Jack Houses/ Jacking Wells included. Installation of 2 No offshore cranes, 300t & 100t along with the 4 No azimuth thrusters per rig. Plus the outfit and final acceptance of the 90 man accommodation unit and helideck. The follow-up and monitoring of all related QA/QC systems for the project in line with contractual specifications and international acceptance standard.

Skils
Seajacks Kraken” and “Seajacks Leviathan” are both new construction offshore rigs, built between 2007 to 2009. Both are Self Propelled, DP-II, 4 Legs (85.0M each) 90 men living quarters, 300T and 100T Marie Deck Cranes with Heli-deck capacity for Super Puma or similar type helicopter. Total project cost US$280M.
WD Fairway” is a Hopper Dredger conversion (lengthening) project from 2001 to 2002. This was the world largest insert (lengthening) project at that time.
Tasmanian Achiever” and “Victorian Reliance” conversion (lengthening) project from 2003 to 2004. Both Ro-Ro type sister vessels.
Jascon-8”a heavy lifting offshore support vessel conversion project in 2004. All four projects were split into nominally 2 phases;
Phase-1: Construction of new mid Body’s (for each vessel) sections which consists of steel works, piping works, electrical cabling as well blasting and painting works.
Phase-2: Insertion of the pre constructed mid body after split-up of the existing vessel into two parts into a floating / dry dock. These phases also included additional strengthening and commissioning / test trial and hand over to the owners of the vessels.
New Construction of the very sophisticated 8 # Harbor Tug from 2005 to 2007. All boats were of 65T bollard pull capacity, un-man notation LRS class. This was a very successful project of a new design. Owner is “Svitzer Wijsmuller’ a Denmark based company
