Description

Job Title: Ship Building Project Manager

Reports to: AGM

Location: Mumbai Dock yard

Job Summary:

Manage shipbuilding projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely, within-budget, and quality construction. Coordinate with design, engineering, production, and client teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction:

1. Review and understand contract specifications and client requirements.
2. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
3. Coordinate with design and engineering teams.

Construction:

1. Manage production, ensuring quality and safety standards.
2. Supervise and coordinate with subcontractors.
3. Monitor progress, identify and mitigate risks.

Client Relations:

1. Communicate project status and changes.
2. Ensure client satisfaction.

Financial Management:

1. Manage project budget and costs.
2. Monitor and report expenses.

Quality and Safety:

1. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
2. Implement and maintain quality control processes.

Team Management:

1. Lead and motivate project team members.
2. Foster collaboration and communication.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in shipbuilding project management.
3. Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes, regulations, and industry standards.
4. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
5. PMP certification (or equivalent) preferred.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in related field.
2. Experience with shipbuilding software (e.g., CAD, project management tools).
3. Familiarity with classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV).
4. Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001).



Working Conditions:

1. Shipyard environment
2. Frequent travel to client sites or subcontractor facilities
3. Occasional overtime or weekend work
