The firm covers US East Coast ports from Norfolk, Virginia to Portland, Maine on a daily basis, with additional worldwide assignment on many special projects. The firm is an incorporated partnership that has managed successful ownership transitions since its inception in 1875.


Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an early-career Engineer/Marine Surveyor located in Tinton Falls, NJ who is interested in varied and challenging professional work in a small company. A desire to learn and to interact with a wide variety of clients, projects and maritime settings is required, along with an awareness that advancement will demand superior skills in science, technology, communications and analysis and will require a challenging probationary period and continuous learning.


The work will involve the widest possible engineering tasks ranging from surveying, to proposal writing, to design, to salvage, to regulatory work, to forensic analysis and will involve substantial travel and irregular work hours.


The position requires great individual responsibility, but with the added benefit of close mentoring and training by industry leading senior personnel.


Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in in engineering | Relative experience in the Marine Industry | Marine engineering license a plus

·        Experience in the maritime industry is a plus

·        Willing to be onboard for substantial travel and irregular work hours (depending on the Project)

·        Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

·        Good communication skills, both written and verbal

·        Ability to work independently and on-site

·        US Citizen or Permanent Resident
