General Manager

Responsible for managing a team of 8 managers in all aspects of organisation management including -

- All operation of the ships keeping its functionality and service performance, covering all the aspects of Class Requirements IACS.

- Providing services for passengers, their vehicles as well as for general cargo and this includes hiring and operating vessels on Time or Voyage Charters.

- Development of new business to increase the volume of cargo & passengers

- Management of all contracts including, negotiating of service contracts and all costs to achieve a better a better margin of profit

- The training and development of staff and their motivation.

Achievements include:



• Achieved up to 85% of total market share on cargo volume.

• Increased the volume of cargo and passengers in the Ferry services by up to 17% average, annually, during 4 continuous years, extending the commercial image to new clients and regions.

• Getting a 95% efficiency on vessel´s departure timetables on daily basis.

• Renewing the fleet, passing from one hire vessel to own, two RoRo vessels through a financial bank program. Value Euros 70 millions.

• Developed new business on spot market hiring vessels on time or voyage charter.

• Introduced a new system for sales and tickets reservations, including terminal yard operations, providing to clients a real time operation on web page.

• Introduced a new administration system covering all activities from the sale of products and services with a single data entry.

Responsible for the overall management of the operation – profitably and to ISO 9000 quality standards in all aspects of administration and service.

• Executed the construction project for a new office building, a container freight station and empty container storage with a total investment of USD $ 8 millions.

• Executed an expansion project into a container terminal including a new berth construction, a yard container, and to purchase especial equipment as container cranes, rubber tyre gantries, top loaders, for a total investment of USD $ 41 millions

• Increase productivity by up a 52% achieving a saving of USD $ 6 millions of operational personnel costs, per year.

• Increased the number of Shipping Lines as clients, increasing the cargo volume and revenues by up to 100% in 5 years.

• Improved efficiency through a training personnel program, saving US$ 1,5 millions of operational personnel costs, per year.



Vessels Operations Manager 1995 – 1998

Responsible for the discharge and loading operation of all kind of products and vessels including stowage and lashing, delivery and reception of cargo,

• Introduced innovation into the operating processes including using modern and new equipment.

• Training of personnel to increase productivity and to reduce the vessel’s operating times, leading a team of up 500 workers on daily basis.

• Dealt with all aspects of the administration of documents and procedures for release of merchandise.
