REGIONAL HARBOURMASTER
Come ashore at Lyttelton, New Zealand
As the key player in our Coast and Waterways Safety team you will have primary responsibility for Environment Canterbury’s navigation safety activities, as well as developing, operating and maintaining safety management systems for the two major commercial ports (Lyttelton and Timaru) and the secondary ports of Akaroa and Kaikoura. The operational focus will be the regional implementation of the New Zealand Port and Harbour Marine Safety Code. The harbourmaster will also have a major role in oil spill response, and contribute to boating safety education and promotion.
You will have a Master Foreign Going or Class 1 certificate; bring strong communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people.
