|
Purpose
• To participate in the execution of service work
• To ensure at all times that safety, reliability and technical excellence are the key drivers supporting WSS Service Concept
Interrelations
Reports to the Safety Service Manager
Formal authorities
Act on matters pertaining to the rules and regulations of the governing authorities, such as the US Coast Guard, ABS, etc.
Main Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Marine field inspection/service of fire ext., suppression & detection, life saving equipment & Personal protective equipment, etc. Foreign and Domestic
• Fix fire fighting systems of all types, CO2 high and low pressure, halon, wet chemical, water mist, etc.
• Responsible for following WSS quality standards, and the Safety Service Concept routines according to corporate objectives when executing WSS work
• Responsible to follow WSS’s safety standards, WSS’s safety guidelines when working in-house or onboard, WSS’s safety guidelines when working in the workshop and other relevant safety standards valid at places of work
• Responsible for communicating technical deficiencies or improvement notices, and assisting Local Management with follow up, and corrective actions, as necessary
Accountabilities
This position will be measured against:
• Liner revenues and expenses, actual vs. budget
• Improvement and Potentials and Customer Satisfaction Reports
• Adherence to WSS policies and procedures and quality standards
• Adherence to the request of the Service Manager
Qualifications
Mandatory requirements
• TWIC Card Required
• Technical and/or marine background
• Knowledge of ships technical operation
• Minimum 2 years experience in related business
• Service oriented and safety minded approach
• Ability to work on own initiative and interact well with others
• Ability to work independently as well as a team
• Ability to co-operate across organisation lines internally and towards customers
• Good physical condition
• Willing to work overtime + weekends
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Ability to solve practical problems and manage time, knowledge of mechanical, mathematics and analytical experience
• Ability to communicate effectively within multinational environment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Systematic and accurate nature
• Travel when needed
• Must be proficient with the use of a computer and software applications, including Word, Excel and other Mircrosoft Office
Process Involvement
Performing onboard inspections of portable and fixed systems, hydrotesting and filling in a shop environment. |
